Editor's notes:

LYRICS: from one of the OnLine Guitar Archive mirror sites: http://www.leo.org/pub/rec/music/guitar/songs/olga/s/spirit/index.html, posted there by Glen Macon, 23 Jul 92. Verified by listening to the recording. Confidence: 100%.

This is Randy California at his most lyrical. I believe the lead vocal was sung by Jay Ferguson on the original album version.

CHORDS: They came with the lyrics, from the site above. I've adjusted the placement of a few of them. I've verified them by playing along with the recording several times. Confidence: 94%. It's hard for me to tell what key this song is. I suppose it moves back and forth between C# minor and E major (the former is the relative minor of the latter.) How did he ever find that opening sequence of Aadd9 to G#sus4 to G#?!

Chord suggestions:

Slide back and forth between one or the other pair of A and B chords,
for the "Just nature's way, it's nature's way" section, changing on
every beat. I can't tell which of these pairs Randy C. plays (if either)
but both work nicely here.
